Pixie Is Home!!!!
Rhoda and I went to get her from the airport last night. They brought her over to cargo immediately after the flight landed. She was sitting in her crate looking around like "What's next?" The woman at the service counter wanted to see her so she went into the holding bay with us. Pix comes out and is so excited to see me she is climbing on my lap, chewing my ears and face (oh yes that is as ouchy as it sounds but I still have ears and a face) and flipping around so I can rub her belly. She was hilarious! The woman asked how long she had been gone b/c she had never seen a dog so excited to see it's owner. I told her the welcome wasn't that much more than I get when I come home from work We were in the car and letting Judy know all went well by 7:19. The flight landed by 705. Not bad.

So now things are quiet again for a bit as more waiting happens. We'll do an ultrasound in about a month to confirm pregnancy. My fingers and toes are crossed.

Coming Home!
Pixie-rat is coming home Monday afternoon! It's been so quiet at our house the disruption will be very welcome! Kai left Saturday to go back home with Rhoda so poor Roady will have been an only dog for 48 hours. He doesn't seem any worse for the wear but he could get fat living like this....no one to wrestle with is making him a lazy boy!

Today is the day!
Got word from Judy that today is the day! Stryder said so last night and the progesterone test says he is a star student! That makes her first due date March 26th! I can smell the puppy breath already!

Not yet... that watched pot still isn't boiling!
Judy had a progesterone test done to see where Pix is in her cycle. Still a bit early even though both she and Stryder are acting interested. It is only day 12/13 so still a bit early yet. Even with Kai at our house it is pretty quiet. The little beast is on her best behavior at Judy's not much barking at all! Little rat!

Maybe tomorrow
Judy sent a note that Pix is doing well and they'll probably try a breeding tomorrow evening.
Came across a cute vizsla song/blog
Check it out! A very cute song about my favorite dog subject

Houston, Columbus base here. The Pixie-Rat has Landed!
Got the good news that Pixie traveled well and is already enjoying her new digs with Judy's dogs. The flight from Cincy to Houston with Rhoda went without a hitch. My thanks and gratitude cannot be expressed enough. Rhoda is making a habit of keeping my dogs straight at the airports. Rhoda got some good ideas about securing her crate. Got water/food dishes (who knew you'd need a dish for a 3 hour direct flight?!?!) and of course lugged that crate around as well as Pix and all of the stuff she normally travels with to TX..
Apparently Pixie got to try out a few new things in addition to the plane...a revolving door, riding on one of the airport carts, TSA security (sounds like a funny breed ring exam). All no problem for my girl. It is several days too early for a breeding but will keep you updated as I hear.

We've decided she's going to TX!
Pixie must have known what she was doing by holding off coming in season. It turns out Rhoda is going to TX this Friday so Pix can go with her. I'm taking her to rhoda on Thursday. Then they'll leave Friday morning on Delta. If Pix doesn't handle the flight well I'll drive down to pick her up when she is ready to come back. I don't think that will be a problem. She is pretty stable and is happy in her crate. If she is ok she'll come back on Delta by herself in about a week. That does make me nervous but at least there are options. So I'm getting my list together of what to send with her to Judy. The house is going to be so quiet without her mouthiness!
